EXAM RESULTS ARE OUT – WHAT NEXT?

A recent survey carried out by push.co.uk and published by the BBC revealed that student debt is on the rise and will reach between £23,000 and £30,000 by the time they finish their degree courses, depending on where they are studying and the course they are doing.  The central issue in the survey is the fact that the days of students leaving school and starting their professional lives without some form of debt to repay are over. This is even more pertinent in the current economic climate and, unless there are exceptional circumstances, they will have some form of loan or debt to repay when their studies are over.   Have you made sufficient provisions for their future education?

Our Century Education Plan is designed with this in mind. Children can be enrolled from birth and, as a junior member, they would receive a share of the Society’s surplus profits each year which would be placed into a special account we hold for them. This can be accessed tax‑free* between the ages of 21 and 25 to help repay part of their student loan or debts.

We also understand how difficult it can be if a child is unable to attend school due to illness or because they’ve had an accident.  If parents have to take time off work this often has to be in the form of unpaid leave. Alternatively, they may have to pay for a childminder or babysitter, which can be expensive.  In addition to the above, our Century Education Plan provides tax-free* sickness and accident cover for children over the age of 5, which becomes payable from the 8th day of their absence.

It’s fair to say that we all want children to benefit from the best possible start in life and we are working with you by providing financial and practical support.
